The Council charges development contributions on new development that increases demand for Council infrastructure. This helps to pay for the additional infrastructure the Council provides to service growth development.
A review of our Development Contributions Policy is currently underway. This review may result in changes to the development contribution charges.
Once the review is completed we will seek public feedback on the draft policy. This will likely happen later in 2024 and will be communicated on our website.

The Council is required to have a policy that details its approach to development contributions and financial contributions charged under the Resource Management Act.
The policy must provide information on how development contributions are set, how they are assessed and what the charges are.
