The Council's Residents' Survey is carried out each year to measure resident satisfaction with Council activities and services.

Survey currently underway

The 2016-2017 Residents Survey of Council services is now underway through to March 2017. 

It covers services such as parks, libraries and service centres and is distributed to a wide range of people via email, letter and feedback at Council facilities. 

If you are approached or contacted we encourage you to participate.

The survey is designed to ask questions about the activities and services the Christchurch City Council delivers, as stated in its Long Term Plans and Annual Plans.

The surveys measure past performance and provide information that assists in determining future standards in service delivery. From 2009/10, the survey has been administered in two formats. 

General Satisfaction Survey

For general activities that most or all residents in the city use, such as water supply, waste collection and road surfaces, a representative random sample of all city residents over the age of 15 is used to measure resident satisfaction. This is called the General Service Satisfaction Survey. The General Service Satisfaction Survey is conducted in March each year.

Point of Contact Survey

For activities that are used by a more targeted selection of residents, and where that targeted population can be defined and contacted either on site or through a mail or phone survey, the Point of Contact Service Satisfaction Survey is used. The Point of Contact Survey measures satisfaction with services such as libraries, parks and service centres. The Point of Contact Surveys will be conducted at different times of the year, depending on appropriate timings for each service.
