Tūhono Kapa Haka Festival 1

Welcome to Tūhono Kapa Haka Festival 2025! Tūhono Kapa Haka Festival is a performance and competition for primary and secondary school celebrating Kapa Haka in our region.

Begun in 2013 Tūhono is a By Māori for All annual Kapa Haka event. The festivals are kapa haka concerts for school groups of all ages. Last year 62 schools attended including 15 secondary schools!

These have proven to be wonderful events and are a fantastic celebration of Māori performing arts in Otāutahi.

  • 9am Any age Ngāhau (non-competitive)
  • 11.30am Year 3 -6 Junior Competition
  • 2.30pm Year 9 -13 Senior Competition
  • 5.30pm Year 9 - 13 Senior Competition

Alternatively, you can purchase an all-day pass.

Nau mai, haramai e te iwi, let us celebrate bringing together kura across Ōtautahi for Tūhono Kapa Haka Festival!
