If you have a complaint about a rooster crowing or chickens please contact us on 03 941 8999 so an Environmental Health Officer can investigate and discuss options available to you.
Please note that the Council does not impound poultry.
Rats or mice on private residential properties are the responsibility of the owner to control.

If you observe stock wandering uncontrolled on a road or in a public area call us on 03 941 8999 or 0800 800 169 so we can assist in containing or impounding the stock. Council will first try to contact the owners of the stock to contain them.
If you have lost or found stock please report the animals by phoning 03 941 8999.
Where the Council impound stock and this remains unclaimed, the Council will advertise through a public notice in a local newspaper that the stock is unclaimed and if not claimed will be sold at auction on a given date and time or otherwise disposed of. Auctions are advertised at least a week prior to the auction.
Fees payable for the release of stock includes all costs incurred by the Council in the impounding of the stock (eg. trailer/truck hire) and the associated pound and seizure fees.
