We're resurfacing a section of Wainui Main Road because it has reached the end of its life and needs to be strengthened with additional materials.

Work on rebuilding a section of Wainui Main Road will start on Monday 10 February and continue for about two weeks (weather/site condition dependent).

While work is underway this section will be reduced to one lane and controlled with temporary traffic lights, as shown on the map below. Please expect delays of up to five minutes.  The speed limit through the work site will be 30kph.

Works will look similar to that recently undertaken on Wainui Main Road in French Farm. For properties with entrances off Wainui Main Rd within the marked work area, we ask that you please keep your vehicles off the roadside and within your properties. If this is not possible, please park on the berm outside your property but no closer than six metres from the edge of the road. We also ask that where possible you avoid parking on the seaward side of the road.

Our contractor Fulton Hogan will be on site and can assist with any queries. Please follow any signs or traffic management measures that they have in place.

Emergency services access will be possible if required.

We know this work is disruptive so we appreciate your patience and understanding. Thanks for your cooperation while we complete the resurfacing.
