Natural disasters occur unexpectedly. Learn how to make a plan and how to be prepared so you can get ready and get through it. Choose a focus area from earthquakes, storms, tsunamis, floods or pandemics.

Are you prepared for when the next natural disaster occurs?
Learn how to get ready for and deal with large-scale emergency situations.
Students will learn the difference between an everyday emergency and one that requires a larger response, and what to do before, during and after the event.
Focus your experience by choosing from earthquakes, floods, pandemic, tsunami or storms.
We are learning to:
Students will use oral, written and visual resources to understand key terms and concepts
Students will use creative, critical and metacognitive processes to consider what large-scale disasters are, and how best to prepare for and work through them.
Students will be encouraged to manage themselves both in groups and independently.
Students will consider the challenges involved in dealing with civil defence emergencies and how to support themselves, their families and their communities.
Students will be expected to actively take part in the programme, work with others and consider different perspectives.
Students will be guided and encouraged to be well-prepared for future emergency events.
