We will be renewing the watermain pipe and submain pipes on Glandovey Road and Pentlow Place, as they have reached the end of their serviceable life.

Due to recent incidents involving burst water pipes along Glandovey Road and Pentlow Place, we are prioritising a full renewal of the watermain and submain pipes. The watermain is located underground in the road, while the submains are the pipes that link out to each property, and these can be located under the road, footpath and berm.

Investigative potholing

To support the design and installation of the watermain and submain renewal, we will be doing potholing works to investigate the exact position of existing services underground.

Work starts on Thursday 21 August 2025, and is expected to take between 1 and 2 weeks.

Two-way travel will be maintained, but a temporary road layout will be in place. See the start works notice(external link).

Main works

The renewal works, which are expected to take 3 months, involve pumping underground water, trenching and excavation works, and the installation of 765 metres of new mains and 835 metres of new submains.

At the end of this project, the road will be completely reinstated with new asphalt. A new notice for the pipe renewal and road resurfacing works will be distributed and published online ahead of this phase of work starting.

Project area

The map below shows the project area for the investigative works, during which two-way travel will be maintained.
