Glandovey Road – water service renewals

What

We are replacing the water supply pipes in your street, which are part of an emergency renewal project.

Why

The existing pipes have reached the end of their service life and require replacing.

Where

Glandovey Road, between Thornycroft Street and Idris Road, Fendalton.

When

17 September 2025 to 19 December 2025. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Contact

The contractor is Utilities Infrastructure New Zealand (UINZ). Phone: 0508 374548, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm or email admin@uinz.co.nz. Please advise us if you have specific property access requirements e.g. medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries, planned works.

Details:

Following on from the notice delivered last month notifying of upcoming works, the physical works involving the installation of new water mains and submains are about to begin on Glandovey Road. Work on Pentlow Place has already begun.

Traffic impacts:

  • The westbound lane of traffic will be closed for a period during construction, meaning traffic will only be able to flow eastwards towards Idris Road. A signposted detour will be in place for westbound traffic.
  • Other traffic impacts can be expected such as shoulder closures, temporary traffic lights and footpath closures while these works are being undertaken. Please follow all signage and pay attention to any changes.

Property access, parking and other impacts:

  • There will be times when vehicle access to properties is temporarily restricted. The contractor will door knock to allow residents to move vehicles if necessary.
  • On-street parking will also be temporarily removed where needed. If your vehicle remains in a restricted area, we may need to tow it to a nearby location outside our work site to keep our work on schedule.
  • The work may result in increased dust, noise and vibrations.
  • We will try to keep any disruption to a minimum.
  • Water supply to your property will be maintained, with a separate notice being given for the shut off when connecting to the new pipes.
