Winter Solstice Night Bike Ride 2025
Support safe cycling in Christchurch for all ages and abilities. Bling out your bike with lights and ride as a group around Hagley Park after dark.
The purpose is to brightly support safe cycling in Christchurch for commuters, kids riding to school and all recreational cyclists. And to be cool, very cool. This will be our 14th year.
This is a family-friendly event, but organisers urge that you ride with your children as it is pretty dark after 5.30pm. Bling out your bike, helmet and person with as many lights as you can.
We ride counterclockwise around the park on the shared-use paths and on the new cycleways. Riders disperse on their own at the end of the ride.
The event will be held rain or snow or wind or hail, or a nice warm evening. In case of really severe weather, an announcement will be posted here.
