Potting up the Past

Visit the Kiosk in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens during the festival and discover and grow heritage plants to take home.

Drop in to the Kiosk at the Botanic Gardens for a hands-on celebration of Canterbury’s rich garden heritage.

Families and garden enthusiasts of all ages are invited to pot up a tray of heritage vegetable or flower seeds to take home — and start your own piece of gardening history. Choose from a selection of treasured heirloom seeds, generously supplied by Yates, a trusted New Zealand seed company for over 140 years.

While you're in the Kiosk, take time to enjoy a special display celebrating the legacy of heritage gardens in Canterbury.

No booking required — just come along, get your hands dirty, and take home a little bit of the past to grow into the future!
