Start anytime between 10am to 1pm. Meet at Bottle Lake Forest Information Centre, plenty of parking available on-site.

Young walkers can become 'mouse' to explore the deep dark woods on this self-guided walk to meet new friends including snake, fox, owl, The Gruffalo and some wonderful native species unique to New Zealand.

Enjoy storytelling and craft activities.  Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy all the wonderful nature play options available at Bottle Lake Forest Park.

This event is part of The Walking Festival 2023, with over 50 walks available for all ages and abilities to explore, learn and connect in Ōtautahi, Selwyn and Waimakiriri from Saturday 8 April to Sunday 23 April.

The walk is approximately 2.3km and will take about 1 hour depending on the pace of the little people you are walking/running with.  The track through the forest is rough in patches with tree roots and sandy patches so we recommend bringing a robust buggy to make your journey through the forest easier.

The event is a partnership with Plunket Whānau Āwhina, Playcentre Aotearoa, St Margarets College, Freshchoice Parklands and Christchurch City Council.
