Friday Big Bands at Riverside
Fantastic Big Bands from Secondary Schools and the University of Canterbury perform as part of the Christchurch Big Band Festival.
Surrounded by local eateries and boutique shopping it's a great place to relax and enjoy the music on the last day of the week! Featuring the grooves of some amazing secondary school jazz and funk bands these big bands will be a feast for your ears.
- 10:30am Te Puna Wai o Waipapa / Hagley College Big Band
- 11:15 Christ’s College Big Band
- 11:45am Shirley Boys’ High School Big Band
- 12:30pm St Andrew’s College Big Band and Jazz Orchestra
- 1:30pm UC Jazz Society Big Band
- 2pm CBHS Chch Boys’ Big Band
After this performance you can stay in the area to hear more big bands at Fat Eddies from 4pm and the jazz parade at 5pm on the Terrace.
If you love hanging out at Riverside to hear big bands, there will be a further 11 big bands from around Te Wai Pounamu playing during Saturday and Sunday! Check the schedule for details!
If wet the Riverside performances will move to A Rolling Stone on Colombo Street.
