Details

We’re progressing the Radcliffe Road corridor improvements project following approval by the Community Board of the scheme design. We’ll be doing investigations along Radcliffe Road and Blakes Road, which will involve potholing the area to confirm the location of any underground services and identify the ground conditions we’re likely to encounter during construction. The information gained from this work will inform the design for the project.

The potholing work will involve digging holes and may also include taking samples. This work will be noisy at times.

The most invasive work is the physical excavation, which includes cutting the road seal, hydro excavation, backfilling, and compacting. All of these steps are noisy operations.

To minimise disruption, we will have multiple teams on site to get this done as quickly as we can. This will require the road to be narrowed to one lane.

Traffic impacts:

  • Both Radcliffe and Blakes Roads will be reduced to one way during these hours.
  • Temporary traffic management (road cones, signs and barriers) will be in place. Please follow all signage and instructions from staff. This is for your safety as much as for theirs.
  • Some traffic delays may occur. A 30kph speed limit will be in place so we can keep our workers and everyone safe. Please be on the lookout for changes in traffic management and follow the signs.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained around our work site. Our friendly staff will help people get around our site.
  • Please see below the intended one-way detour while these works are being carried out.
