Details

The construction works will cause disruption to regular commuting through this section of road, with time frames highly weather dependant.

Traffic management will be in place and will change during the construction project. It will include a mix of traffic light one-way systems and daytime closures.

Planned Work

Construction of a new retaining wall: 18 May - end June

  • Excavation and clearance of the slope
  • Drilling and pouring of concrete for steel piles
  • Installation of precast concrete wall panels
  • Drainage installation and backfilling
  • Reinstatement works, including topsoil, hydroseeding, and planting

Further updates with specific dates and closure times will be issued closer to each stage.

Work impacts on commuters

  • Extended periods of temporary traffic lights.
  • Daytime closures with pedestrian access provided. Please follow staff instructions when walking through the site.
  • Two days of hard daytime road closure, between 9am and 3pm, with no vehicle or pedestrian access during the installation of the concrete panels. Tentative dates for closure will be 2 and 3 of June, with contingency to slide through to 10 June subject to weather and unforeseen issues. Updated signage and letter drop notification will be provided one week prior to closure to confirm timing.
  • Increased noise, dust and vibration from excavation, drilling, machinery and increased truck movements.

Access requirements

If you need to travel through the site during a closure period, please speak to our staff on site.
