What |
We’re making improvements on a section of Ferry Road, by replacing the pedestrian platform at the signalised crossing between Catherine Street and Maronan Street to address issues with the existing road surface. |
|---|---|
Why |
The existing platform requires repair because the paved surface is failing. It will be replaced with an asphalt surface that better meets the needs of this location. |
Where |
Ferry Road, between Catherine Street and Maronan Street, Woolston. |
When |
28 April 2026 to 1 May 2026. Tuesday to Friday, 6pm to 7am. These works will be at night (weather/site condition dependent). |
Contact |
The contractor is Higgins Contractors Ltd. Phone Jemma Coulter (Higgins Forman), Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. |
What you need to know:
A three-way Stop/Go will be in place during the work period. The Ferry Road end of Maronan Street will be closed and there will be no entry onto Ferry Road from Catherine Street. See the map below for details.
There may be short delays for people travelling through the area while our contractor is working, and your understanding is appreciated.
Temporary traffic management (road cones, signs) will be installed as part of the works.
We'll need to remove on-street parking to allow space for the works, and to keep everyone safe.
We know this work can be disruptive, and we appreciate your co-operation and understanding.
Information for residents and businesses:
Access to properties for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained around the worksite where possible.
Our contractor will help people get around the site. Please advise the team (contact details above) if you have specific requirements e.g. medical visits, large deliveries, home help or any planned works.
There will be increased construction noise and vibration at times, and we’ll do our best to keep this to a minimum.
The work will have no impact on any services such as water, electricity, telecommunications, and gas.
The timing of the work and certain activities will depend on the weather and the roads. We’ll provide updates if there are changes to the planned schedule.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
