Glandovey/Heaton/Rossall/Strowan intersection – investigation works (Night Works)

What

We’ll be working on the road investigating the location of underground services.

Why

These works will confirm what is under the road and will help us to plan work in the area as part of work to support the Northwest water and traffic upgrades programme.

Where

The intersection of Glandovey Road, Heaton Street, Rossall Street and Strowan Road.

When

Sunday 12 and Monday 13 April 2026, 7pm to 6am (weather/site condition dependent).

Details

In the evenings on Sunday 12 and Monday 13 April 2026, we’ll be completing investigation works at the intersection of Glandovey Road, Heaton Street, Rossall Street and Strowan Road.

 Impacts

  • During work hours, a four-way stop go will be in place at all approaches to the intersection.
  • Traffic will be able to travel through the intersection from all directions.
  • Traffic management impacts will be removed during the day.

 Information for road users

  • Cyclists will need to merge with traffic through the site.
  • We’ll need to temporarily remove on-street parking to allow space for the works.
  • Please take note of all signage.
  • A 30 km/h speed limit will be in place so we can keep our team and everyone safe.

 Information for residents and businessess

  • Access to properties will be impacted at times. We'll aim to provide advanced warning where possible.
  • We will help people to get around the site. Please advise our team if you have specific requirements e.g. medical visits, large deliveries, home help or any planned works.
  • There will be increased construction noise and vibration at times, and we will do our best to keep this to a minimum.
  • The work will have no impact on any services such as electricity, telecommunications and gas.
  • The timing of the work and certain activities will depend on the weather and the roads.
  • Please put your bins out as usual by 6am on your collection day. Our team will move them and return them.
