Details

We’re removing the road surface to rebuild and strengthen the foundations underneath before resealing with a smooth, new surface. Works are set to take place from 2 February 2026 to 13 March 2026.

We know roadworks can be disruptive and we’re grateful for your cooperation and understanding.

Traffic Impacts

  •         You will still have access to your property during the work period. However, traffic management (stop/go) will be used to manage this access and the speed of vehicles driving through the work site.
  •         There will be cones and construction vehicles while work is carried out. On-street parking will be unavailable in the construction areas, until the work has been completed.
  •         Please let us know if you have any specific requirements for property access, eg. for medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries/moving, or other planned work on your property.

Key Information

  •         Residue from new surfaces, like asphalt and chipseal, can stuck to your shoes or car tyres after the first few days of works being completed. Please be mindful of this when entering your garage or home.
  •         Be assured that we have been working with our contractors to source new products that limit the chances of this occurring, and we have already been trialling them across the wider Christchurch area.
  •         Surfaces may be uneven at times, but we will aim to minimise this.
  •         There may be periods of noise and vibration, although we will aim to keep this to a minimum.
  •         Work will be rescheduled if the weather is bad.
  • We will be in touch again with directly affected residents and businesses in January.
