Details

  • Hunter Civil is replacing wastewater pipe in several streets in Riccarton. This work involves replacing the main pipeline as well as lateral connections to individual properties
  • Work has already started in George Street and will move to the surrounding streets over the coming months.
  • Before works get under way, you’ll receive a site-specific letter with an update on when work will be starting in your street and the traffic management arrangements that will be in place.
  • The contractor will liaise with you about vehicle and pedestrian access as the work progresses, but if you have any specific needs like meals on wheels or medical visits, we recommend you contact the contractor so access can be maintained. Access will be available for emergency vehicles at all times.
  • Wastewater services to your property will not be interrupted. There may be a need to limit your use when we are connecting lateral pipes, and we will be in touch about that closer to the time.
  • Rubbish/recycling collection will still be completed on collection day; bins will be moved and returned as required to allow these to be emptied.
  • The work may result in increased dust, noise and vibrations. We will try to keep any disruptions to a minimum and apologies for any inconvenience.

Traffic Impacts

  • Each stage of work will require a road or lane closure, depending on the location of the pipe and safe working space for machinery and personnel.
  • Detours will be in place as required.
  • Please obey all traffic management signage and instruction from the contractor.
  • Vehicle access to your property may be restricted at times. This will be temporary and footpath access will still be possible.
