When

26 January 2026 to 30 January 2026. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Details

Isaac Construction has been awarded the contract to construct the Templeton package of the South Express Major Cycle Route. Before work starts in February, Isaac will carry out investigative works from 26 to 30 January to confirm design details.

The construction of the Templeton package will extend the cycleway along Waterloo Road from Barters Road, continuing along Railway Terrace and Jones Road to Globe Bay Drive. Part of this work will include maintenance work in Railway Terrace, including replacing the kerb and channel, replacing a watermain, and resealing the street.

The investigative work will involve digging holes, referred to as potholing, and may also include taking samples. This work will be more comprehensive than the investigative work in December 2025 and will be noisy at times.

Traffic Impacts

  • Traffic along Waterloo Road, Railway Terrace, and Jones Road near the work area will be maintained in both directions.
  • Temporary traffic management (road cones, signs and barriers) will be in place. Please follow all signage and instructions from staff.
  • Some traffic delays may occur. A 30kph speed limit will be in place so we can keep our works and everyone safe. Please be on the lookout for changes in traffic management and follow the signs.
  • Pedestrian access will be be maintained around our work site. Our friendly staff will help people get around our site.
  • This work will create noise; our team will try to minimise noise where possible.
  • Access to properties will be maintained throughout. Please advise if you have specific requirements e.g. medical visits, large deliveries, home help, and any planned works on your property.
