Flockton and Harrison Streets - wastewater renewal

What

Renewal of wastewater pipes stage 1A & 1B to be followed by pavement renewal, a separate start work notice will be issued for this.

Why

The existing pipes have reached the end of their service life, and the road pavement needs renewal to cope with increased traffic.

Wastewater, Flockton Street from Carrick Street to Westminster Street.

When

22 September 2025 to 28 November 2025. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Details

Flockton Street will be closed to through traffic from Warrington Street to Westminster Street, with resident’s vehicle access maintained via Aylesford Street and side streets and part of Flockton Street from Warrington Street. There will be no resident’s entry from Westminster Street. The length of road closure will vary as the works progress, and the contractor will liaise with residents regarding access details. Please refer to stage diagrams attached to the Residents Notice previously issued.

Please obey all traffic management signage and contractors’ instructions the contractor will liaise with residents regarding vehicle and pedestrian access as work progresses. Residents with specific requests like meals on wheels or medical visits are advised to liaise with the contractor so access can be maintained.

Access for emergency vehicles will always be available.

The bus route will be changed to Francis Street for city bound journeys and Aylesford for return journeys.

The contractor will endeavour to minimise disruption by employing two crews to expedite the work and will assist with any reasonable requests.
