Details

Project background: As part of the Cranford Street / McFaddens Road intersection safety improvements that were completed earlier this year, we need to move one of the streetlights on McFaddens Road. The streetlight is located in the berm outside 96 McFaddens Road, by the intersection with Cranford Street (northbound). This is the final piece of work for the project and will be carried out by Connetics.

The streetlight is being moved 3.6m west along McFaddens Road and this will improve the lighting level of the traffic island and pedestrian crossing on McFaddens Road. The work is planned for Wednesday 27 August 2025 and it is expected that this work will take one day to complete. This work is weather dependent, if the weather is poor the work will be rescheduled.

Traffic impacts

  • On Wednesday 27 August 2025 there will be no access into McFaddens Road from Cranford Street (northbound). This lane closure will run from the intersection with Cranford Street to 91 McFaddens Road.
  • Vehicles will still be able to exit McFaddens Road and head north on Cranford Street whilst works are underway.
  • During the works, parking on the southern side of McFaddens Road around the work area, will be temporarily removed.
  • During the works pedestrians will be detoured around the worksite.
  • Please use alternative routes to enter McFaddens Road whilst these works are being completed.
  • Please allow extra travel time if you will be affected by the lane closure.
