Details

From Tuesday 22 July 2025, we'll begin work to renew the
watermain in zone 1 of our site (Grassmere Street between
Grants Road and 46 Grassmere Street).

To complete this work on zone 1, we'll need to close a
section of Grassmere Street. A detour will be in place for
vehicles.

Our work along the Papanui Parallel Cycleway (between Grants Road and Rutland Street) and on Rutland Street (between Tomes Road and Mays Road) will continue as we begin our work on Grassmere Street.

While this is in place:

  • The Papanui Parallel Cycleway between Grants Road and Rutland Street will remain closed, this will likely reopen before work is completed in zone 1.
  • Rutland Street between Tomes Road and Mays Road will remain closed to the public, this will likely reopen before
work is completed in zone 1.
  • Grassmere Street will be closed to motorists at approximately property number 46.
  • Grants Road will be closed to motorists at the intersection with Taunton Green.
  • Residential access to properties through the closure will be maintained, however individual driveway access
within the worksite may be impacted at times. We'll provide advance notice wherever possible.
  • Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained around our work site, however cyclists will be asked to dismount.
  • There will be traffic management in place, so please follow all signage, detours and instructions from the contractor.
  • We'll reduce traffic management impacts when it is safe to do so.
  • Water supply to your property will be maintained, with a separate notice being given if shutoff is required.
  • The works may result in increased dust, noise, and vibrations.
  • Please advise if you have any specific property access requirements e.g., medical visits, home help, large vehicle
    access, deliveries, planned works etc.
