When

Mid-June 2025 for approximately one month. Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Details

This significant wastewater pipe upgrade started in September 2024 and will be finished mid-2026. Parts of this upgrade are now completed (Clyde Road). Other parts of this upgrade are ongoing (Creyke Road), and new stages of work are beginning.

In June, the contractor will start with trenching and excavation works over the intersection of Creyke, Ilam and Maidstone Roads.

Works include:

  • Pumping water from below the ground to allow for trenching and excavation works.
  • Trenching and excavation works.
  • Installation of new pipes and road sealing.

Following work at the intersection, we will begin a large programme of work along Maidstone Road.  You will receive a new work notice for this in a couple of weeks.  See over the page for details of an information evening you can attend next month to learn more about both stages of work.

Traffic impacts

There will be traffic management in place while the work is being completed, including shoulder and lane closures, one-way systems and the temporary removal of on-street parking. We will update you about any changes as the project progresses.

The main traffic impacts during this next stage are:

  • One-way traffic on Creyke Road travelling west direction only (as per the current traffic management).
  • No entry/exit on the north side of the intersection on Ilam Road.

Signposted detours will be in place for affected traffic around the intersection.  A 30km/h speed limit will be in place so we can keep our workers and everyone safe.

Please follow the signage and keep an eye out for changes in traffic management.

Information for residents and businesses

  •  Diversions and traffic management will be in place. Careful planning has been undertaken to minimise disruption where possible.
  • Water services and power will be maintained.
  • Bins can be put out as usual.
  • Any changes to bus routes will be shown with signage. For information on bus routes, visit metroinfo.co.nz

If you need to get in and out of your property and we are in your way, please just talk to one of the Dormer Construction staff members and they will make sure you can use your driveway.
  • There will be increased construction noise and vibration at times, but we will do our best to keep this to a minimum.
  • Stay updated on the project and likely impacts at ccc.govt.nz/ilam-wastewater.

  • We know this work can be disruptive, and we appreciate your co-operation and understanding.
