This significant wastewater pipe upgrade started in September 2024 and will be finished mid-2026. Parts of this upgrade are now completed (Clyde Road). Other parts of this upgrade are ongoing (Creyke Road), and new stages of work are beginning.
In June, the contractor will start with trenching and excavation works over the intersection of Creyke, Ilam and Maidstone Roads.
Works include:
Following work at the intersection, we will begin a large programme of work along Maidstone Road. You will receive a new work notice for this in a couple of weeks. See over the page for details of an information evening you can attend next month to learn more about both stages of work.
Traffic impacts
There will be traffic management in place while the work is being completed, including shoulder and lane closures, one-way systems and the temporary removal of on-street parking. We will update you about any changes as the project progresses.
The main traffic impacts during this next stage are:
Signposted detours will be in place for affected traffic around the intersection. A 30km/h speed limit will be in place so we can keep our workers and everyone safe.
Please follow the signage and keep an eye out for changes in traffic management.
