Ross Parade - retaining wall construction

What

We will be undertaking slip repairs on Ross Parade by constructing a new retaining wall. This work will impact residents in the following ways:
• Temporary Road closure of Ross Terrace and Ross Parade
• Increased noise, dust, and vibration from the use of machinery
• Water Shutdowns (Specific dates will be notified separately)
• Unavailability of some on-street parking

Why

We are constructing a new retaining wall to repair a slip that has damaged Ross Terrace.

When

28 April 2025 to end of June 2025. Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Enabling Works

From Monday, 14 April we will start to prepare the site for these works. This will involve material deliveries, temporary fencing and other enabling works.

Road Closure

  • Road closures will be needed to mobilise large equipment and undertake the retaining wall task. Both Ross Parade and Ross Terrace will be closed to Residence only access for the duration of the work.
  • Traffic Management staff will be able to help direct residents and business owners to their properties within the work area. Please contact Fulton Hogan on 0800 762 334 if you have any specific access needs.
  • If you have specific access requirements or concerns, please get in touch in advance so the contractor can accommodate your needs.

During the works

  • There will be increased noise, dust, and vibration from the use of machinery for activities such as saw cutting, soil excavation and, retaining wall construction.
  • On-street parking will be affected where we are working. Cones will indicate where parking will not be available.
  • Property access will be maintained where possible. We will work with businesses and residents during the work. Please let us know if you have any specific property access needs e.g. medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries or planned works.
  • There will be no pedestrian access at the intersection of Ross Terrace and Ross Parade.
  • Please put your bins out as usual by 6am on your collection day. Our team will move them and return them if needed.
