Details
Watermain renewals involve replacing or upgrading aging or damaged water pipes to ensure a reliable and safe water supply. As infrastructure deteriorates over time, pipes become prone to leaks, breaks and contamination, necessitating proactive replacement. These projects help improve water quality, reduce water loss and increase capacity to meet need.
Traffic Impacts
- A road closure will be in place between the Matai Street East and Mona Vale Avenue intersection and Darvel Street for the initial and final stages of work.
- For the middle stages, the work will reduce inside the Mona Vale property.
- When road closures are in place, buses for Christchurch Girls High School and Mona Vale will use Darvel Street or Matai Street East (from Deans Avenue). Temporary parking for buses will be allocated on Matai Street East.

Information for residents, schools and businesses
- Access to properties, schools and businesses for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained around the worksite.
- There will be increased construction noise and vibration at times, and we will do our best to keep this to a minimum.
- The timing of the work and certain activities will depend on the weather and the roads. We will provide updates if there are changes to the planned works.
Driveway access
Driveway access to properties (including those within the closure area) will be maintained. However, we may need to work in front of driveways from time to time. We will try and give you plenty of notice for this. If you need to get in and out of your property and we are in your way, please just talk to one of the Isaac staff members and they will make sure you can use your driveway.
We know this work can be disruptive, and we appreciate your co-operation and understanding.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
