Detail

Project background

We recently installed some safety improvements at the intersection of Cranford Street and McFaddens Road which included a safe speed platform before the pedestrian crossing on Cranford Street and a new speed hump on the entry to McFaddens Road.

In our last notice in February, it said we would need to return for one night in May to complete the coloured surfacing and refresh the linemarking. We have been able to bring this work forward and will now be completing this over one night at the end of March.

Due to the busy traffic on Cranford Street, we’ll be undertaking these works overnight. This will help us to carry out the work safely and efficiently to limit disruption.

This work is highly weather dependent, if the weather is poor the work will be rescheduled to the following night, Monday 31 March.

Traffic impacts

The following will be in place between 6pm – 6am:

  • A road closure will be in place on McFaddens Road, at the intersection with Cranford Street from 6pm on Sunday to 6am on Monday. There will be no access in or out during this time.
  • Detour routes will be in place, with signage to redirect traffic around the road closures.
  • Please allow extra travel time if you will be affected by the closures.
  • A localised northbound lane closure around the worksite will be in place on Cranford Street. This means there will still be one northbound lane open for traffic heading north.

Other details

  • A 30km/h speed limit will be in place so we can keep our workers and everyone safe.
  • Please be on the lookout for changes in traffic management and follow the signs.
  • For these night works, all on-street parking close to our work site will be temporarily removed to allow for a safe working space.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. If you require assistance or an escort, please speak to staff onsite.
  • There will be increased construction noise at times, but we will do our best to keep this to a minimum.
  • The timing of the work and certain activities will depend on the weather and the condition of the roads. We will provide updates if there are changes to the planned works.
  • Please advise us via the contact information above if you have any specific property requirements e.g. medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries or planned works.
  • Work will have no impact on any services such as electricity, water, telecommunication and gas.
  • If this work coincides with your bin collection day, please put your bins out as usual by 6am.  Our team will move them and return them, if needed.
