Innes Road - street renewal

What

This is the second stage of a two stage process to reseal the road. The first stage was completed during the street renewal works in 2024. We’re now coming back to apply the final surfacing. We will also be repairing some of the intersections before the final surface is applied.

Why

The second coat of chip seal is typically laid 6-12 months after the first coat, this provides strength and waterproofing to the road’s surface. Any defects from the street renewal works will be addressed at the same time.

Where

Innes Road (between Mersey Street and 273 Innes Road).

When

3 March 2025 to 17 March 2025. Monday to Sunday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Contact

The contractor is HEB Construction Ltd. Phone Zane Tomalin 027 320 3285, 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Details

The resealing works are carried out in two stages. The first stage was completed during the street renewal works in 2024. This is the second stage and involves repairing any defects and then applying the second coat of surfacing.

Repairs will be undertaken at the following intersections in preparation for the second coat of chip seal being laid:

  •  Severn Street
  • Jameson Avenue
  • Thames Street
  • Nancy Avenue

Traffic Management will be in place during works. At times during the work, on street parking will be unavailable. Intersections may be closed while repair work is completed, detours will be in place and will be signposted.

You will still have access to your property during the work period. However, traffic management will be used to manage access and the speed of vehicles driving through the work site.

A sweeper truck will be on site following resurfacing to remove loose chip.

Please let us know if you have any specific requirements for property access i.e. for medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries/moving or other planned work on your property.

Work is dependent on weather/site conditions - week of 17 March may be used if bad weather is encountered.

There may be periods of noise and vibration, although we will aim to keep this to a minimum.

Thank you for your patience while we carry out this work as quickly as possible.
