What are we doing?
We will be removing the existing road surface and installing new asphalt of Suva Street, between 112 Suva Street and Middleton Road. Milling is the removal of the current road surface by a large machine called a Mill. As the Mill moves along the road, it digs up the current surface and spits it out the front. As part of this work, new line marking will be installed.
Traffic impacts
- During this time, Suva Street will be closed between 112 Suva Street and Middleton Road. Detour routes will be in place, with signage to redirect traffic around the road closure. The cycleway will remain open.
- We will need to restrict some on-street parking, so no parking cones will be placed before we start work. We will aim to minimise restrictions as much as possible.
- The speed limit around our work site is 30/kph so we can keep our workers safe.
- Our friendly on-site staff can also assist with any queries.

Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
