Our contractor HEB Construction will be carrying out the following works:
· Shifting of planters and removal of wooden hoarding.
· Demolition of the existing footpath, kerb and channel.
· Reconstruction of the footpath with various pavers and designs to enhance the streetscape.
· Reconstruction of kerb and channel.
· Installation of new traffic lights.
· Replacement of streetlight poles.
· Installation of four cycle stands and the planting of four trees on Colombo Street.
· Adjustments to parking signage along the footpath on Colombo Street.
Work will begin on Colombo Street (Gloucester Street to Armagh Street) and then move onto Gloucester Street. The map shows the location of the works.
Traffic management measures will be in place, as follows:
· The road shoulder that is currently closed off due to the hoarding will remain closed when the hoarding is removed.
On street parking will be mostly unavailable in construction zone while we install, but we will try and minimise parks taken for traffic management.
Please advise as soon as possible if you have any specific requirements for property access during the time we install the materials in the street, including medical visits, large vehicle deliveries/moving, or other planned work on your property.
These sections of Gloucester Street and Colombo Street form part of the city’s Performing Arts Precinct, which has been in development since 2012 and will become home for the new Court Theatre when it opens in May this year.
