Details:

The works will involve releveling of the existing sprinkler heads, installation of a new artificial cricket pitch, spot surface releveling and establishment of a new turf grass surface.

Scope of work:

  • Installation of temporary fencing.
  • Spraying off the existing grass.
  • Lifting and levelling the existing irrigation sprinkler heads.
  • Installation of an artificial cricket pitch.
  • Spot surface relevelling with topsoil.
  • Turf grass sowing and establishing a new turf grass cover.
  • Physical decompaction.

The physical work to remove the existing grass cover, install the artificial turf cricket pitch, re-align the irrigation sprinkler heads and re-establish new grass is expected to take around 15 weeks in total.  The work will be divided into two stages so that the sports fields do not remain completely closed over the summer period.

Stage 1 is expected to be completed toward the end of January 2025 (senior sports fields) and Stage 2 is expected to be completed towards the end of March 2025 (junior sports fields).  The other facilities in the park during this period of works will remain open.
