Details:

We are upgrading the traffic signalling for the intersection of Bealey Avenue and Barbadoes Street.

These works are largely required to take place at night to mitigate the impact on the high volume of traffic that passes through this intersection during the day. When possible, we will switch to day works as the tasks allow, dependent on the impact this will have to traffic flows.

The works include, but are not limited to:

  • Installation of new ducting
  • Pavement reinstatement
  • Installation of new traffic poles
  • Reinstatement of footpath
  • Concrete cutting and pouring for islands
  • Road marking and signage

Our contractors will do their utmost to complete the noisiest of the works during the day or early in the night to minimise the impact to residents in the area.

Traffic impacts

Lane drops and detour routes

  • The intersection will be open for the majority of these works, however, there will be times when lanes are closed, and lane diversions are in place to facilitate the work required.
  • Detour routes will be in place, with signage to redirect traffic around the closures.  Please allow extra travel time if you will be affected by the closures.

Pedestrian access

  • Pedestrian access will be available via marked routes with signs advising where to go.
