Fyfe Road Pump Station - renewal

Update

What

We are carrying out improvements on the pump station at the intersection of Fyfe Road and Bennington Way.

Why

The works are required to replace the current wastewater pump chamber with a new chamber.

Intersection of Fyfe Road and Bennington Way, Wigram.

When

15 July 2024 to mid-November 2024. Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Details

We are writing to update you on the pump station work at the corner of Fyfe Road and Bennington Way. Due to unforeseen delays, work was postponed.  Work will recommence on Monday, July 15th.

 

Information for residents

  • There will be some construction noise and vibration during work hours, and you may hear temporary pumps running overnight from time to time. We will do our best to keep this to a minimum. 
  • The work will have no impact on any services such as wastewater, water, electricity, telecommunications or gas.
  • Please continue to put your rubbish out as normal, if necessary, we will move the bins to ensure the truck can empty them, then return them to their original position.

 Traffic Impacts

  • A one-way system will be in place on Fyfe Road
  • To accommodate specific tasks on two occasions, of four days duration, the road will be closed to all vehicles on this section of Fyfe Road.
  • We will notify you of these closures in advance, resident access will be maintained.
  • Please be vigilant for changes in traffic management.
  • A 30kph speed limit will be in place to keep everyone safe.
  • Pedestrian access around the site will be maintained.
