Details
- Poynder Avenue bridge is on track to be open to traffic by mid-July. Works will commence at Garden Road after Poynder Avenue is opened.
- The works will involve relocating power and telecommunication cables, demolishing the existing bridges and installing pre-cast structures for the bridge.
- The road area where the bridge is located will be closed and no traffic or pedestrians will be allowed during the construction works.
- Detours will be put in place to minimise road user disruption.
Work impacts
- The work will be noisy at times while we complete demolition of the existing bridges and piling works, but the team will try to have this type of work completed as soon as possible.
- Some on-street parking will be restricted along the street for safety reasons.
- There will be an increased number of trucks and machinery moving through the area.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
