Why |
The upgrades are being done to ensure safer approaches across the railway for pedestrians and vehicles travelling along Sturrocks Road and Tuckers Road. The upgrade will also include the development of safe and easy access onto the new section of the Northern Line Cycleway, where it will intersect with the crossing. |

What are we doing?
- We are constructing a shared path cycleway through the rail corridor between Sturrocks Road and Tuckers Road and between Barnes Road and Main North Road. (The section between these points, through Barnes Reserve, is already complete.)
- As part of the works to extend the cycleway, the railway level crossings at Sturrocks Road and Tuckers Road need to be upgraded. This will include track formation, track works and footpath replacement.
- After these works, another phase of works will require crossing closures at the end of March. A separate start work notice will be sent nearer the time.
Where are we working?
Traffic Impacts
Road Closures - while the roads are closed on either side of Sturrocks Road and Tuckers Road railway crossings, detour routes will be in place, with signage to redirect traffic around the closures.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
