The intersection of Clyde Road and Greers Road will be temporarily closed from Monday, 12 February.

The intersection will be closed for approximately 3 weeks to keep our contractors safe while they work to install a median island.

While the intersection is closed:

  • Parking will be reduced on both sides of Greers Road where the intersection is closed.
  • Traffic will be able to travel along Greers Road in both directions however, cars travelling along Greers Road will not be able to turn into Clyde Road.
  • Traffic may be reduced to one way with a manual stop-go to support the flow of traffic in both directions.
  • Detours will be in place, redirecting commuter traffic travelling along Greers Road via Wairakei Road and Aorangi Road or via Memorial Avenue and Aorangi Road. Those travelling along Clyde Road will be redirected via Truman Road, Ilam Road and Memorial Avenue.
  • A temporary bus stop will be set up near 173 Greers Road.
  • Noise, dust, and vibrations will be generated as part of work.
  • Cyclists will need to merge as part of the works.  Please take note of all signage and be aware that cyclists will be merging.
  • We appreciate your patience as we work to improve the safety of the roads in our district.
