Canterbury Showgrounds - driveway renewals : Christchurch City Council

What	Renewal to an existing driveway intersection and gravel track upgrade.
Why	We are renewing some surfaces within the park. First to fix and strengthen a high wearing damaged asphalt intersection on the main driveway into the park, and secondly, renewal of an existing gravel track, upgrading this area to a chip sealed road surface.
Where	Canterbury Park, A&P Showgrounds, Hillmorton
When	Late September 2023 to early October 2023. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).
Contact	The contractor is City Care. Phone 0508 248 922, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm Please advise if you have specific access requirements which could be affected during this process.

These driveway areas will be temporarily closed to the public during this time while the works are completed in these areas.

Temporary signs will be in place to help direct the public around the site to help maintain access around the sites.

Spotters will be on site to safely assist pedestrians and motorist around the construction zone during this time.

There will be heavy machinery operating at this time with construction plant and vehicle movements taking place during the day.
There may be increased noise and dust during these works.
Access to the park will remain open during of the renewal works, but there may be some temporary disruptions from time to time while the works are completed here.

Noise

There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.

Bins

Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
