Details

We are working on Annex Road, Blenheim Road and Hansons Lane. Our works include stormwater renewals, traffic signal upgrades and kerb and channel work as we go. We are also upgrading the road and reconfiguring the traffic islands and line marking to streamline traffic flows. A shared path will be constructed on the south side of Blenheim Road, between Hansons Lane and Annex Road to provide a safe path for cyclists and pedestrians.

Traffic impacts

  • The traffic lights on Blenheim Road, at the intersections of Hansons Lane and Annex Road will be turned off, to allow traffic to flow uninterrupted through our work site.
  •  Blenheim Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction, with a 30 km/h speed restriction in place.
  •  The right-hand turning bays from Blenheim Road into Hansons Lane and Annex Road will be closed so please follow the sign posted detours.
  •  Left hand turns will be available in and out of Hansons Lane and Annex Road.
  •  Bus detours will be in place, information can be found at the closed stops, or online at www.metroinfo.co.nz/timetables/updates
  •  When possible, please consider an alternate route.
  • Please turn over the page for a map of the layout of the work site.

Other information

  • There will be a number of traffic management layouts implemented while the work is completed.
  • These will be a variation of road closures, one-ways, shoulder closures, lane drops and temporary parking removal. When these changes are approaching these will be communicated closer to the time. Business and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
  • The bulk of this work will happen during the day but there will be times when we will carry out specific tasks at night when the roads are quieter and less congested. We will communicate with affected parties before any night works start.
  • There may be times when vehicle access to your property is restricted. This will be temporary, and we will communicate beforehand so you can move your vehicles if necessary.
  • There will be construction noise as the work is completed but this will be kept to a minimum.  T
  • here may also be some traffic delays and areas cordoned off as we do our work, but we will work with people along the street to find convenient times to do this work.
  • The timing of the work is dependent on weather and road conditions so we will provide regular
    updates during construction.
