Port Hills / Flinders Road - water main renewal detour notice : Christchurch City Council

What	We are replacing the water pipes, which are part of the annual renewals project.
Why	The existing pipes have reached the end of their service life and require replacing.
Where	Port Hills Road (from Martindales Road to Bridle Path Road), Heathcote, Christchurch. This will also affect residents on Flinders Road.
When	7 November 2022 to early April 2023. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

One month ago, residents were advised of the need to have Flinders Road changed to a temporary one-way road, with traffic
exiting via Bridle Path Road. We appreciate the efforts made by residents to observe this change.
As a result of some traffic not observing the speed limit, and attempting to go against the flow of traffic, we have reduced the posted speed limits, increased sign sizes in key areas, and restricted parking in narrower areas.
Please continue to observe the posted speed limit and one-way requirements. As stated previously, this detour will only be required till mid-December 2022.

Noise

There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.

Bins

Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
