This already popular loop track is the newest addition to the Council's tracks.
Start: Mid section of the Rapaki Track near Cattle Yards.
Finish: Same as starting point.
Access: Either end of the Rapaki Track.
Signage: At the start and throughout.
Description:
From the reserve entrance sign the track climbs a 4WD track before leading onto a single track.
Meander slowly uphill through rocky terrain before a faster undulating section leads into a flowing fun descent.
The track then contours across the northern aspect of the Reserve, offering stellar views across the city and towards the southern alps.
Final section is on a fast gravel surface, which brings riders back to a point where it’s easy to do another loop, or head back out onto Rapaki Track.
