There are now more than 75km of cycleways, which make getting around way safer and easier for everyone.
A section of the Papanui Parallel cycleway will be completely closed between Wednesday 2 July and Wednesday 30 July 2025.
The affected section runs along the Cranford Basin, between Grassmere Street and Rutland Street.
This is to allow the upgrade of an essential water main pipe under the shared path. The work is weather-dependent, so we’ll provide an update if we need to extend the duration of this section closure.
A 1.4km detour will be in place via Tomes Road, Claremont Ave, Paparoa Street, Rayburn Ave and Grants Road. We apologise for the inconvenience. Please ride carefully.
Ngā mihi nui, thank you for your patience while we complete this essential work.
