As your Councillor I have loved building strong connections with local organisations and volunteers. Close to my heart is the ability for residents to lead on what they see as important in their neighbourhoods.
I have continued to build my skills through chairing boards and training in the Resource Management Act. I successfully advocated for the Residents' Association to manage the St Albans Community Centre, and ensured the acquisition of nearby land, which is now a flourishing Community Garden. This year I initiated and drove a successful bid for a $3M Council contribution to the Edgeware Pool. Our city can only be as strong as its people, so community facilities are crucial as places to connect and inspire.
Christchurch, A National Park City, can emerge when we cast a Climate Change lens across every decision, reduce our emissions and continue funding Councils' Biodiversity programmes.
Vote for Pauline Cotter Inspiring Innes.

Elected members should be visionary, aspirational and excite people with new ideas and innovation using common-sense and positive energy. We also have to get the basics right.
If elected as your city councillor for Innes, I'll bring a range of knowledge, experience and passion at a time when Christchurch needs fresh ideas and energy. Having been an elected member since 2013 (Councillor 2013-2016/Community Board 2013-2022), I can see how much still needs to change for the better inside CCC. We need to look at whether the council is actually fit for purpose in 2022.
I believe there are better ways of doing things and the longer we take to complete (or even start) projects, money is wasted and people's positivity and trust are tested.
We must make decisions that put the everyday lives of our residents, now and in the future, at the centre of those decisions. #GetOnWithIt

My principal place of residence is in the Innes Ward area. I am also standing for Innes Ward of the Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central-Community Board.

Hi there fellow resident, thank you for participating in choosing a person to advocate, activate, represent the communities within our ward, and shape the future of our city. Locally you may recognise me having knocked on your door with a petition regarding the Cranford St debacle, or rebuilding the Shirley Community Centre. Maybe you've bumped into me, building things at community gardens, possibly community events or meetings I organised or assisted in.
Locally we don't need photo opportunities, political positioning, or PR spin. We need change, we need action. I am that person.
Our city's been subject to indecision, and soft stances. We must do more to protect our communities from poorly planned, profiteering - urban intensification, and existing urban tree canopy removal. Our drinking water must remain under our control.
I will strive for accountability and full transparency at council. I will be accountable to you.

Holly CHAPPELL-EASON

My principal place of residence is in the Innes Ward of the Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board area.

As a proud 5th generation Cantabrian I'm driven to make a difference in our city. The opportunity to help make our community vibrant, active and safe is an exciting prospect.
A strong community board should embrace diversity, sports, whänau, culture, public spaces and community groups. We need safe streets; a balance of pedestrians and cars, and functioning public spaces. We are a diverse and thriving community. We should be celebrating all of the different passions we have - what's important to us. Let's make Innes ward a place we are proud to call home. After living and working all over New Zealand it felt exciting and necessary to move home to Ōtautahi - Christchurch, to start my family here in Saint Albans, to be an active part of the rebuild. Make sure your vote counts - a vote for Holly Chappell-Eason is a vote for you and your family's future.

I've lived in the ward most of my life and some of my greatest memories are from attending both Mairehau Primary and High Schools. This is the neighbourhood I love and I want to ensure everyone's voice is represented and heard. I bring experience from working at the Department of Corrections, working in an NGO supporting women and children encountering domestic violence, serving on advisory committees to the City Council, and leading various community projects and workshops focused on building a more cohesive and inclusive society. I now welcome the opportunity to serve and add value to our Community Board. Focus areas of particular interest to me include crime prevention action, funding and resources for community initiatives and safer roading and intersections. I am highly passionate about making a positive impact and will be committed to this role. I hope to count on your support in this year's election.

Edgeware has been my home since I was a teenager. Although I have lived in other areas of New Zealand my heart has always been here. I have a strong all-round business background in various positions including business mentoring, coaching and more recently as a business strategy consultant. My experience includes Operations, Project, Financial and Team management. My key strengths are Strategic; Achiever; Responsibility; Focus; Competition and Relator, in that order.
I am a passionate, practical person who likes to produce results. My son and I are both particularly enthusiastic about health and fitness and are involved in the swimming community.
Communication between ratepayers and council is critical for smoothly operating community services. My interests for Christchurch and Innes ward are: drainage, roading, housing intensification, rates, and water quality. Innes community needs to have a strong local voice and I wish to be that voice.

Kia ora, I have extensive experience in Customer Service, I have owned my own business and I currently work in the banking sector. I believe this experience combined would serve me well to being a strong community advocate, while looking to get the best value for your money.
I believe the priorities of our Community Board in the next term should be:
Implementing all practical measures possible to minimise and mitigate the flood risk across the Board's zone.
Pushing for improvement in the way council engages and the transparency of council when dealing with significant community issues.
Ensuring that the basics are done right: water, roads and footpaths.
It would be a great privilege to be your representative on Community Board over the next three years. If elected, I will strive to be a visual and available representative. For any questions please contact me on 0223463910

Kia ora. Standing for Community Board, I hope to bring a new and fresh voice into our community's leadership to represent not just young people, but all families and individuals who call the Innes Ward their home.
I am a passionate advocate for better connectivity and infrastructure in our area, as well as better resources for our community to enjoy and cherish. I am currently studying Political Science and International Relations at the University of Canterbury and I am an active volunteer within the community.
As the closest point of contact to locals, I believe that our Community Board is always the best place to start engagement on the big issues such as transport and resilience. Recent boundary changes have resulted in me now residing in the Papanui Ward, but Innes Ward community formed a core part of where I grew up and is where I feel at home.

Christchurch is a large city that covers a wide area, lots of suburbs, lots of neighbourhoods.
From the executive suite of the council office, it is impossible to be familiar with every street and avenue of the city. That is where the community boards play their part.
As a rate payer and resident of Christchurch for the past 27 years I want to ensure that the voice of my local neighbourhood is properly represented within the council boardroom and throughout the wider council operation.
My family and I are really enjoying the way Christchurch has evolved over the past decade through some very tough challenges. Now is the time to bring some of that focus back to the local neighbourhoods and that is where I want to be your voice and your representative on your local Community Board.
Thank you for your support.

Following on from a successful first term on the Board, I will continue to provide strong, local leadership that pushes our Council, ensuring local voices lead the development of our communities. I will continue to raise the critical issues of protecting our natural and built environments through the changing times being driven by the likes of climate change, intensification, resource and financial strains. Our ward requires infrastructure that compels us to live sustainably without feeling inconvenienced or overcharged.
I will ensure social issues created by housing demand, changing demographics, diversity and inequality are recognised in local planning decisions and I will advocate for funding to be spent on improving the health, happiness, and resilience of residents.
I understand advocacy, good governance, and the oversight of operations. I want to see transparent decision-making as well as project budgets equalling the actuals. Vote for me because our future is now.

An advocate for my community (of four years), I will continue with fervour, should I be elected to our Community Board.
Living in St Albans has involved me in liaising on issues (brought to my notice by residents), ranging from building consent compliance, to drainage debacles, to dog control and children's safety issues, e.g. fencing of the play area at our local Park.
Involved in swimming and the Disabled Person's Assembly, I have also made suggestions for greater safety measures at our G Condon pool.
I have personally created relationships with Park and Dog rangers and assisted in rescues of several pooches.
Trained as an educator, editor, researcher, (one who has professionally advocated in court processes), I am experienced at articulating arguments.
My formal qualifications are a Master's Honours degree, A Teaching Diploma, Law and Management papers and a Certificate in Counselling.
