Worcester Street is the final connection for the Rapanui cycleway into the city.
Council approved the scheme design for Worcester Street cycleway connection, with several amendments and notes, on Thursday 12 May 2022.

We expect construction to begin in August 2022.
Future work on Worcester Street
A new cycleway, which will link Rapanui Shag Rock Major Cycle Route from the southeast into the central city, will begin in 2024. Information on this can be found on our budget tool(external link) or in our Long Term Plan(external link), ID number 60236.

The staff recommendation to the Hearings Panel is to recommend to Council to approve the Antigua Street cycleway connection plan which includes:
