We have been monitoring the conditions on Thames Street since December, and there has been an increase in traffic and speeding. We are taking action to reduce these impacts by installing a traffic calming trial.
From Monday 8 March for two weeks, we will trial a cul-de-sac at the Innes Road end of Thames Street. This was the preferred option for residents during community consultation last year.
During the trial, we will continually monitor traffic on Thames Street and may need to make adjustments to the trial layout to make sure we are on the right track. We will also monitor the traffic on the surrounding streets.
After the trial period, we will consult on a permanent option. We will then provide the community with an update on the outcomes of the consultation and prepare a report with recommendations for a permanent solution. The preferred trial option will remain in place during the evaluation and reporting process.
You can provide feedback from Monday 8 March.
