We’ve packaged up some proposed changes to the District Plan including the policies and rules around the type and size of native trees and plants (indigenous vegetation) that can be cleared within areas of existing pasture on coastal farmland.
The changes also seek to:
- Clarify the circumstances where an assessment should be undertaken to determine if an area is of significant value for its biodiversity as part of an application for resource consent to undertake clearance.
- Update information in the plan that is intended to assist landowners to determine whether they have indigenous vegetation on their properties or not.
