During this time we heard from ten individuals and groups. You can view the Hearings Panel meeting minutes (external link)and the agenda(external link), which includes the staff report and all submissions.

The Hearings Panel Report was presented to the Council on 11 March 2021. You can view the report(external link),  item 19 on the agenda.

Council adopted the Hearings Panel recommendation, without change, to approve the variation to the lease. You can read the full resolution in the meeting minutes(external link) (page 9).

The facility will be open to the public, providing toilets in an area that is well used by community sports groups. The trust will pay for the building and all ongoing maintenance.

Proposed new changing rooms in North Hagley Park

The trust already leases this council-owned land and a variation to the lease is required to accommodate the new building. The proposed ground floor area of the single storey building is 299.87 square metres. It complies with the Christchurch District Plan and the trust will need to apply for a building consent.
