Consultation update

Thank you to those who provided feedback on the proposed Emerson Street parking changes in December 2019. In response to the feedback received we propose some further alterations to the plan and we would like to hear your feedback.

The most significant change is moving the proposed yellow no stopping markings to the opposite side of the street to replace the existing P120 restrictions. This will retain one more  on–street parking space and ensure the fire hydrant outside number 47 Collins Street is always accessible.

The second change is an extension of the existing yellow no stopping markings on the west side of Emerson Street at the intersection with Poulson Street. This is to keep the pedestrian crossing point clear of parked vehicles. These lines were previously removed by a contractor digging up and resealing a section of the road.

Benefits  of the changes include:

  • Slowing down traffic
  • Residents’ driveway access improved
  • Ensuring access for waste collection trucks and emergency vehicles
