Consultation has now closed

Consultation on Cotterill Street has now closed. People were able to provide feedback from 3 July to 20 July 2020. During this time we heard from nine individuals and groups. You can read their feedback [PDF, 10 KB].

The three main issues raised were:

Cotterill Street looking towards Harman Street

  • Access along the narrow street is difficult when cars are parked on opposite sides of the street at the same time.
  • Difficulty getting in and out of driveways (especially with long vehicles or trailers) due to parked vehicles on both sides of the street.
  • A shortage of parking for residents on Cotterill Street.

On 15 September 2020, the Spreydon Heathcote Community Board approved the proposed parking changes.

Proposed improvements

  • Switching the yellow no stopping markings to the other side of the street to retain an extra 10 parking spaces.
  • To keep a section of existing time restricted parking on the west side of the street (P120, 11am-3pm Mon-Fri). This is to prevent Cotterill Street becoming a destination street for all day parking by people who work nearby. The P120, 11am –3pm allows residents to use on street parking if they wish to and only requires one vehicle move during the day (1pm) to comply with the restrictions.
  • Inclusion of yellow no stopping markings will improve access in/out of driveways and improve traffic flow along the street.
