Consultation on the Burwood park (south) fitness trail has now closed. People were able to provide feedback from 31 March to 21 April 2017.
Thank you for responding to the consultation and commenting on the proposal. All responses were analysed for a report considered at the Coastal-Burwood meeting on Monday 7 August 2017.

The fitness trail opened in 2018.
The proposal
Christchurch City Council has prepared a landscape plan for the development of a fitness trail at Burwood Park (south). The trail is a similar concept to the existing fitness trail at Hagley Park.
Burwood Park was identified as a suitable site to install fitness equipment due to size, the number of sporting groups that use the park facilities, and the easy access and visibility for public.
This is a joint community and Council funded project. Dallington Community Cottage Trust are donating the equipment while Council is paying the installation costs.
Council would like to determine the views of the local community prior to starting installation. We would appreciate you taking the time to complete the enclosed submission form with your feedback.
The vision for the fitness trail is to create an exciting new activity element for local residents and visitors to enjoy.

Provision of six fitness stations including:
- Push up bars
- Air walker / dip & crunch
- Parallel bars
- Skier / horse rider
- Chin up bars
- Recumbent cycle / Pull down exerciser.
Community feedback
Gaining community input and feedback is a vital part of this process. Following the closure of the feedback period, the project team will consider all of the submissions. Amendments will be made to the proposal where practicable.
We will let all submitters know what the staff will be recommending to the Community Board for approval in June 2017.
