The Christchurch Housing Accord is an agreement between the Council and the Government to work together to address housing supply and affordability issues in Christchurch.

The Accord was ratified by the Council in September 2014.

Its long-term goal is to restore a well functioning, private-sector-led housing market in Christchurch, with enough supply at the lower end of the market to ensure access to quality housing for those on lower incomes.

The Accord also aims to support social housing in Christchurch by increasing the quantity of social housing units available and matching the types of housing units to the demand.
