Description |
The track mostly climbs through replanted pine forest with views down to Whakaraupō-Lyttelton Harbour. It enters an older pine section before re-emerging into open land and skirting below the Remarkable Dykes volcanic rock formations. The track ends at the historic Sign of the Packhorse Hut. Book a night at the hut(external link) or continue on the Te Ara Pātaka-Summit Walkway(external link) to Hilltop. There is a lambing diversion in place from August to October, please follow all ground signage. |
